Egypt is experiencing a transition from production-based to knowledge-based and information-based economies. This shift has changed the nature of the jobs and skills required. Competition in this global economy requires a science and engineering workforce that is always at the forefront of technology. Egypt should therefore examine the extent to which the current workforce meets its human capital needs. The broader objective of this project is to close the qualifying gap for professional engineers in Egypt in comparison with EU standards. The project aims to develop a framework for continuous learning for professional engineers, with the establishment of four e-learning centers in four different Egyptian universities to create a gradual development of a framework for the development of procedures and communication with the engineering community. The engineering profession must therefore reconsider its concepts to contribute to building a more sustainable, stable and equitable world. Engineers should adopt innovative ideas about natural and cultural systems and review interactions between engineering disciplines and non-technical fields.
It is our pleasure to invite all Egyptian engineers to attend this dissemination event of the Innovative Lifelong E-Learning for Professional Engineers (eProfEng) project, which is dedicated to explaining the efforts done in this Erasmus+ project. The broader objective of this eProfEng project is to close the qualifying gap for professional engineers in Egypt in comparison with EU standards and labor market needs as well. The event will be organized hybrid, offline at FERIT, and online via the link:
