Biography

Sherif A. Elatriby is an assistant professor of production engineering at the Industrial Service Engineering and Management (ISEM) department, Nile University Cairo, Egypt.  He held an M.Sc. (2006) and Ph.D. (2011) degrees in Production Engineering from the mechanical engineering Dept. Helwan University, Egypt in Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing CADCAM of complex shapes.  He got a funded post-doctoral mission from the cultural affairs and missions’ sector of the ministry of higher education at Newcastle University, the UK, in 2015. Dr Sherif’s work mainly focuses on reverse engineering applications, especially for biomedical applications, through 3D modeling and reconstruction of complicated shapes extracted either from laser scanning or DICOM data of CT and MRI. He has contributed to dentistry modeling and simulation.

He had worked for Helwan University as the head of the academic mobility division of the International Relations Office (IRO-Helwan) for six years, establishing connections with 15 EU universities sending and receiving staff/students in ERASMUS+ mobility program. He also worked for Helwan University in association with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) as the director of the Technology, Innovation and Commercialization Office (TICO- Helwan) for two years. He has been a member of the international funded project division of the (IRO-Helwan) supporting and submitting projects to ERASMUS+, UNITWIN, Fulbright, DAAD, USAID, and British Council.

He has worked for the international accreditation assessment in Africa and MENA region at the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) since 2009. He works as a part-time team leader & technical assessor for many scopes of accreditation as he is:

  • A certified team leader & technical assessor for laboratories proficiency testing (PT) according to IEC/ISO17025:2017 at the EGAC since 2010.
  • A certified team leader & technical assessor for laboratories proficiency testing PT according to IEC/ISO17043:2010 at the EGAC since 2015.
  • A certified team leader for inspection body accreditation according to IEC/ISO17021:2012 at the EGAC since 2016.
  • A certified team leader for certification body accreditation according to IEC/ISO17020:2015 at the EGAC since 2019.
  • A certified team leader & technical assessor for personnel certification body accreditation according to IEC/ISO17024:2012 in the EGAC since 2020.
