Dr. Islam Tharwat is an assistant professor at the School of Information Technology and Computer Sciences, Nile University, Egypt. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc, and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Egypt. His Ph.D. thesis was granted the best thesis award in the Computer and Systems Engineering Department, Ain Shams University.
He is currently appointed as the Chair of the Awareness and Customer Advocacy Subcommittee in the Distinguished Visitor Program (DVP), IEEE Computer Society. He has authored many research articles in various refereed conferences and journals, including IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine, Computer Networks (Elsevier), and Wireless Networks (Springer). He was invited as a speaker, panelist, and keynote speaker in several international conferences and events. He is also a reviewer and a technical committee member in many international and national journals and conferences. Besides, he has received several international certifications from the top-ranked IT vendor worldwide such as Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, Dell, IBM, and ITIL. He delivered and participated in several nationwide, complex, and multi-millions of dollars ICT projects in both governmental and private sectors in Egypt.
