Dr. Ahmed Awad is an associate pofessor at the school of information technology and computer science. Formerly, Dr. Awad was a senior research fellow in the data systems group, university of Tartu, Estonia and was a lecturer at the Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University, Egypt. Ahmed got his PhD from Hasso-Plattner institute, Potsdam University, Germany on 2010. Before that, he got his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Cairo University on 2000 and 2003 respectively. Ahmed’s research interests are in big streams processing, complex event processing and applications thereof, especially in business process management. Dr. Awad has more than 50 publications in international journals, conferences and workshops. Dr. Awad's work has been cited more than 1700 times according to Google Scholar. He also serves as PC member for a number of international conferences including: Business Process Management (BPM), Model and Data Engineering (MEDI), International conference on process mining (ICPM), IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence, etc. this is beside serving as a reviewer for a number of leading journals in computer science and information systems area like : Information Systems journal (IS), Future Generation Computer Systems (FGCS), Software and Systems Modeling (SOSYM), the Egyptian Journal of Informatics (EJI) etc.
