Dr. Mohamed El-Helw

CIS was established in 2008 as a research center to focus on the development and application of computing methods and algorithms for processing, management and interpretation of scientific information. In the same context, CIS is leading in big data/data science education and research in Egypt. The Center offers computational resources enabling for advanced computer science research and recently acquired high-performance GPU boxes and embedded computing boards specifically targeting deep neural networks, visual computing and big data research. The center emphasizes on endorsing high-quality interdisciplinary collaborative research with local and international partners. CIS aims to address the critical challenges in several areas of national importance to Egypt including health, agriculture, traffic and the environment.
