Bioinformatics

Mission

Bioinformatics major aims to train scholars to work at the intersection of biology and computer science/statistics. We teach students to organize enormous sets of genomic and clinical data in an efficient manner. Thus, they will be able to innovate tools that help in the interpretation of such data. Students’ combined fluency in the contemporary life sciences and the use of computational and statistical tools enable them to cope with the quickly evolving landscape of high-throughput “omics” technologies and give them a unique interdisciplinary advantage in the job market.
